THE 1TAC RESPONSE TEAM MOVES INTO ACTION DONATING $20,000 WORTH OF TACTICAL FLASHLIGHTS AND HEADLAMPS TO FIRE VICTIMS, FIREFIGHTERS, FIRST RESPONDERS.
1TAC.COM RESPONSE TEAM WORKS TOGETHER WITH RED CROSS AS THE SOUTHLAND CONTINUES TO BURN –
WHEN THE WILDFIRES BROKE OUT, 1TAC TACTICAL OUTFITTERS www.1tac.com. A LOCAL LOS ANGELES TACTICAL FLASHLIGHT AND SURVIVAL GEAR COMPANY GOT WORD THE DISASTER RELIEF TEAMS NEEDED FLASHLIGHTS. WITHIN HOURS THE 1TAC DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM HEADED INTO THE FIRE ZONE TO DELIVER FLASHLIGHTS AND HEADLAMPS TO FIREFIGHTERS, FIRST RESPONDERS, AND FIRE VICTIMS.
ZERO CONTAINMENT AND POWER OUTAGES.
Fires burned out of control in every direction with ZERO containment, when the team at 1TAC heard a news report that disaster relief teams, Firefighters, and fire victims were in need of among many things, flashlights, not only because of having to evacuate their homes and leave everything behind but due to the many power outages occurring in the area.
MAKING THE CALL TO GO INTO ACTION
Rick Bennink, the CEO of www.1TAC.com made the call and pulled out all available Tactical Flashlight and Headlamp inventory at hand in the office storage warehouse and loaded the car. The 1TAC Response team was activated and much like they did in Houston after Hurricane Harvey they headed straight into the disaster area with no plan in place to speak of, only a hope and a prayer that in some way they could make a difference and help in any way possible. Within an hour they were loaded up and on the road heading towards the disaster.
THIS IS THEIR STORY AND WHAT THEY SAW:
Flames raged, sending an orange-red glow into the evening sky in front of them as they traveled down the freeway towards the fires.
Not sure what direction to head in they made their way through the traffic and smoke and drove towards the Ventura County Fair Grounds. The Fair Grounds was apparently where the Firefighters, Red Cross, Sheriff’s department and all other disaster relief organizations had set up their command centers, war rooms, and relief centers.
THIS WAS CENTRAL COMMAND FOR ALL FIREFIGHTING AND RELIEF EFFORTS.
The 1TAC team was blown away and in awe of what these crews had pulled together in a short amount of time. This was a virtual makeshift and fully functional tactical CITY with hundreds of fire trucks, emergency vehicles, disaster relief command offices and refugee camps all set up with the full infrastructure to handle this immense disaster unfolding. 1TAC Response Team were humbled and blessed to step into the front lines with these brave firefighting heroes, many volunteers along with police, sheriff, Red Cross and many other organizations all working together to fight these firestorms and help the victims of this unbelievable and horrific natural disaster.
Once they found a way around the line up of hundreds of fire trucks and emergency vehicles lining up to get their gas tanks filled they were pointed in the right direction of the Red Cross Refugee center. They met with a number of the organizers to explain why they were there and what they had to offer and after an hour of back and forth they were finally able to find the right people to give them the sign-offs and necessary credentials to drive their car into the facilities and make their way to the Red Cross refugee center with all their tactical gear to put into these peoples hands.
Once inside they were treated like family, and one of their own as Red Cross team members and security crews gave them the support and whatever was needed to carry out their mission.
First, they needed a large cart to load the shipment of tactical flashlights and Headlamps into the facility for distribution, getting the gear into the hands of the people that needed it most. Next, they needed a work table and a few volunteers to unbox the gear get batteries into all the equipment get them back in boxes and ready them to hand out.
GIVING PEOPLE LIGHT
As they worked putting batteries into flashlights, women, children, elderly folks, and families lined up to get a flashlight and much-needed hope that they would be OK. Having something as basic as a tactical flashlight seemed to make a huge difference. They could see it in the eyes and faces of these fire victims, there was hope. These Flashlights and Headlamps would give them light, keep them from losing their way in the dark, whether they were on their way to line up to a bathroom, shower or food line, having a BRIGHT flashlight to guide them was a simple way of instilling a glimmer of hope, eliminating some of the fear and frustration due to their unfortunate situation and helping them along their way to safety and recovery.
GETTING FLASHLIGHTS AND HEADLAMPS IN THE HANDS OF FIRST RESPONDERS.
The firefighters, emergency crews, Red Cross, and other security teams were also given the 1TAC tactical equipment to make their jobs easier. Many of these workers didn’t have flashlights and if the did they weren’t the best or brightest, so when they turned on the 1TAC TC1200 flashlights and HL1200 Headlamps they were surprised at and appreciative of just how much brighter and more helpful the 1TAC equipment was.
A SENSE OF PRIDE AND SATISFACTION
Being a part of the 1TAC Response Team and having a chance to help out these people and this relief effort even in a small way filled them all with a tremendous sense of honor, pride, and satisfaction. They were able to do something so small that seemed to make a big difference in all these peoples lives for this instance in time.
