Organizers enacted the tournament heat policy, playing the mixed doubles and men's singles finals under a closed roof on Rod Laver Arena.

SUNDAY'S RESULTS

Final: No. 2 Roger Federer beat No. 6 Marin Cilic 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

Mixed Doubles Final: Gabriela Dabrowski and Mate Pavic beat Rohan Bopanna and Timea Babos 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.

STAT OF THE DAY

20 — Federer becomes the first man to win 20 Grand Slam singles titles.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Winning is an absolute dream come true — the fairytale continues for us, for me, after the great year I had last year, its' incredible." Federer of his career resurgence since winning the 2017 Australian title. After going more than four years without winning a major, he has now won three of the last five.
